Live Clean Enviro-Kidz Hair Care | Review and Giveaway

As you may know, I am a huge fan of Live Clean products and frequently recommend them to friends and family; their products are vegan, made with up to 98% natural ingredients, are FREE from SLS/Sulfate/DEA, FREE from Paraben/Phthalates/phosphate and Live Clean products also use organic botanical extracts, biodegradable ingredients and recyclable packaging.  Best of all they provide all of this environmental goodness with price tags under $10, which makes Live Clean products accessible to just about everyone.

In the past I have reviewed both Live Clean Baby and Live Clean Lotions and am excited to have the opportunity to share the new Enviro-Kidz line "which encourages kids to be good to the earth by making small eco-conscious decisions."

The Enviro-kidz line is all about hair and includes both a Berry Burst and a Fruit Explosion 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner as well as a Tropical Splash detangler all of which are available Canada-wide at Wal-Mart and Shoppers Drug Mart for only $6.99.  As the mother of two little boys, both with very little hair I was worried that I wouldn't be able to truly put these products to the test so I enlisted the help of a great family with two daughters, one with fine, curly and unruly hair and the other with super thick, straight hair.

The most important feature of any product is quite simply, function and my testers were happy to report that the 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioners had fantastic lather and cleaning power and only a dime size amount was required to leave both girls hair squeaky clean and shiny.  I love the smell of a clean kid so I was ecstatic to hear that the Enviro-Kidz products mild pleasing smell consistently lasted until the next shampooing.

The Detangler Spray has been dubbed the 'magic spray' by my testers' family; Enviro-kidz detangler spray has changed hair brushing from a negative, tear-filled event to an enjoyable, special time for their curly haired three year old, who actually brings both the brush and detangler to her mom each morning and night.  In addition to acting as a detangler, the spray also leaves a nice sheen on the hair, works wonders on stray flyaway hairs and has a scent that works with and compliments the 2 in 1 Envirokidz products.

Live Clean Body Lotion | Review & Giveaway

Back in July, I shared my experience with Live Clean Baby a new line of eco-friendly personal care products for your little ones.  After the launch of Live Clean Baby it quickly became apparent to the folks at Live Clean that there was a need for a line of Live Clean mouisturizers targeted at an adult audience.

Live Clean continues their commitment to the environment with these mouisturizers which are completely vegan and made with 98% plant ingredients.  Live Clean mouisturizers are free of sodium laurel sulfate (SLS), diethanolamine (DEA), parabens, phtalates and phosphates: sadly, common ingredients in many personal care products available today.

I had the opportunity to test out all three of the new mouisturizers and am happy to report that not only do I love them, my family is arguing over who can take posession of my half-used bottles, now that I've had a chance to test them all out.  Live Clean has also graciously agreed to provide one Momma Stuff Blog reader with the chance to try out all three of these lotions out for themselves; giveaway details at the end of the post.

All three of these mouisturizers are rich and smooth in texture and absorbed quickly into my skin.  They are neither greasy nor sticky and they immediatley left a coolness on my skin as the moisturizer began to hydrate me. All of the lotions are hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested.

I started out with the Fragrance Free Body Lotion, intended for sensitive skin; this moisturizer is rich in vitamins A and E and is entirely fragrance free.  Personally, I find that 'fragrance free' is in fact a scent of its own, which assume its actually the pure scent of moisturizer.  I don't particularly care for the smell of 'fragrance free' but since scents often disagree with me, we've become friends.  If you have sensitive skin, you'll know what I'm talking about.  The Live Clean Fragrance Free Body Lotion is a great option for the men in your life who need to moisturize, but don't want anyone to know it.  My Dad will be taking possession of my bottle of Live Clean Fragrance Free Body Lotion for his 'lizard legs'.

My sister on the other hand, has been scouring the shelves of our local drug stores for the Live Clean Fresh Water Body Lotion, which has a light, fresh scent that includes extracts of rosemary and chamomile (and is also available in a hand soap).  Most notably, this lotion includes hyaluronate a natural moisturizer and component in tissue repair within the human body.  With the Live Clean Fresh Water Body Lotion, a little goes a long way, so one tube is sure to last you for quite some time.

Live Clean Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Replenishing Body Lotion is an addition to the Exotic Nectar line, which already includes shampoo and conditioner, smooth and shine cream and oil treatment.  This mouisturizer utilizes argan oil, cold-pressed from the nut of the Argan tree, which is rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamin E.  With such a suite of mouisturizers, its no wonder this lotion is intended for dry skin.  True to its name, the lotion has a nutty, exotic smell.  If I close my eyes, I can almost imagine I'm on a Moroccon beach.

Live Clean somehow manages to make this trio of environmentally-friendly, effective mouisturizers while keeping them at an affordable price point of $6.99 for a 227ml (7.7 oz) tube.  These lotions are fabulous and will keep your skin hydrated and smelling delicious (or fragrance free if you prefer), without compromising our delicate planet.  Definitely a keeper in my books.

Live Clean Baby Review & Giveaway

I am always on the lookout for new, environmentally-friendly products, but at the same time I am always cautious when new products appear in mainstream drugstores.  There are so many products out there labeled as "green", "natural" and "environmentally-friendly" and sadly these terms are not regulated.  Any company can make these claims without any back-up required.

When I first saw Live Clean Baby in my local London Drugs, I picked up the packages, read through them, sniffed the bottles and put them back on the shelf.  I wasn't particularly in need of any personal care products for the boy and I'm always hesitant to try new products before doing a little bit of research (which is likely how you landed here).

But when Live Clean Baby offered me a chance to try out their products for the purposes of this review, I was more than happy to take them up on the offer.  Live Clean Baby is a Canadian Company that "promises performance with natural, gentle ingredients - caring for baby's delicate skin using plant based formulations enriched with certified organic botanicals that are safe for baby and safe for the earth."  I had the chance to try out three products from the Live Clean Baby line: the Fragrance Free Bar Soap, Moisturizing Body Lotion and the Non-Petroleum Jelly.

I personally hate shower gel, so I was super excited to try a bar soap out on the boy.  The newest addition to the line, Live Clean Baby Bar Soap left us both feeling squeaky clean; no slimy residue on the skin, the soap lathered easily and all without any skin redness, itchiness or irritation.  The boy loves playing with the bar of soap, chasing it all around his ducky bath.  He cried momentarily when he rubbed his soapy hands in his eyes, but I probably would have too.  In terms of the environment, Live Clean Baby bar soap is made from 99% plant ingredients, SLS and sulfate free, paraben and preservative free, hypoallergenic and pediatrician tested.  And at only $6.99 for three bars, its definitely in my price range.

When it comes to creams and lotions I hate it admit it, but I'm an addict.  I have tons of half-full bottles of lotion floating around the house.  Live Clean mouisturizing baby lotion is 98% plant based, including extracts from Chamomile, Lavender and Aloe.  Although the lotion is thinner than I prefer, it absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling hydrated and cool with a gentle scent that reminded me of baby powder.  The boys skin felt moisturized in the morning, when applied after his evening bath, but it didn't seem to affect his eczema, for better or worse.

The final product we tested out was the Live Clean Baby Non-Petroleum Jelly.  We use Aquaphor on a regular basis and I had hoped that this product might be able to tackle the boys eczema itch in the same way.  Unfortunately, this was not the case.  The Non-Petroleum jelly is made from 100% natural and sustainable ingredients and is smoother and not quite as sticky as either Vaseline and Aquaphor.  I used it primarily on the boys' chest and chin as a barrier; it seemed to help minimize rashes and drool discomfort from all the teething he's been subject to these days. I think Live Clean Baby Non-Petroleum Jelly has great potential as a barrier cream for diaper rash, fortunately I didn't have the need to test this theory out.

On the whole I was impressed with Live Clean Baby Products; they lived up to their claims, performed their functions well and with an average price of $6.99, Live Clean Baby products are available at a price that most of us can afford, while keeping the best interests of the Earth in mind.  I give Live Clean Baby products a 4/5.
